Terms of Service

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This is a plain-language starting point describing how DomainOwl actually works today. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer — have it reviewed before relying on it for formal legal protection.

1. What DomainOwl is

DomainOwl is a domain portfolio tracking tool: expiry monitoring, renewal cash-flow forecasting, drop-lifecycle watching, and profit & loss tracking per domain. It is not a registrar, not a domain marketplace, and not affiliated with ICANN or any registry. We don't register, sell, or hold domains on your behalf — you manage those relationships directly with your registrar.

2. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for the accuracy of the domain and financial data you enter. You must be able to form a binding contract to use DomainOwl (generally, 18 or older, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).

3. Plans, trials, and billing

  • New accounts get a 14-day free trial with no credit card required, on the plan selected at signup.
  • Paid plans (Solo, Investor, Pro) are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Creem. We don't store your card details.
  • You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the current billing period.
  • Each plan has a domain and watchlist limit as described on the pricing page; exceeding it blocks adding more until you upgrade.

4. Refund policy

  • First-time purchase — if this is your first paid subscription to DomainOwl and you're not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of the charge for a full refund.
  • Renewals — recurring renewal charges are non-refundable except in case of a billing error (e.g. you were charged after cancelling, or double-charged).
  • Cancellations — cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current billing period; you keep access until it ends.
  • Downgrades — take effect at the end of your current billing period, so no partial refund applies for the time already paid at the higher plan.
  • To request a refund, email contact@domainowl.io with your account email and the charge in question. We aim to respond within 3 business days. Note that Creem, our payment processor, acts as merchant of record for these transactions and may also be reachable directly via the receipt it sends you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use DomainOwl to track domains for unlawful purposes.
  • Attempt to abuse, overload, or scrape the service, including automated bulk requests beyond normal use.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
  • Reverse-engineer or resell the service without our written permission.

6. Your data

You own the domain and financial data you enter into DomainOwl. We use it only to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your full portfolio and P&L data as CSV at any time.

7. Data accuracy disclaimer

Expiry dates, registrar information, and domain status are looked up via the public RDAP protocol and refreshed automatically, but registries occasionally return incomplete, delayed, or rate-limited data. DomainOwl is a monitoring aid, not a guarantee — you're responsible for confirming critical renewal dates directly with your registrar before a deadline.

8. Not financial or tax advice

P&L calculations, ROI figures, and tax-ready exports are tools to organize your own records — they are not financial, investment, accounting, or tax advice. Consult a qualified professional for decisions based on this data.

9. Limitation of liability

DomainOwl is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including a missed domain renewal, lost profit, or data loss — arising from your use of the service.

10. Termination

You can archive or stop using your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including abusive use of the service or non-payment on a paid plan.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use DomainOwl after a change means you accept the update.
